"For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people. Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted." Hebrews 2:17-18
He is merciful and faithful.
He is our high priest.
He made atonement for our sins.
He suffered.
He was tempted.
He is able to help all those who are being tempted.
This morning I find myself tempted to rush through the things I have to do this week. I am tempted to be jealous for my time and comfort. I am tempted to get through the day on my own strength rather than slow down and seek the Lord first. And it's only the beginning of the day. How much more will I be tempted today? I am so thankful for a God is who merciful and faithful. One who has experienced all my temptations, yet conquered them and promised to be there to help me do the same. I am thankful that even when my flesh fails, Jesus never does. I'm thankful that HE is the one I can turn to this morning.
