Cheers to Friends!//Brooke

There is just something about having girlfriends. the talking, the laughing, the sharing, the silence-all of it. It's such a gift.

This weekend I got to celebrate life and togetherness with some of the dearest girls the Lord has put in my life.  We gathered at my home on Saturday afternoon for like 8 hours--and it felt way too short. At one point there were 7 girls & 2 babies & a toddler(Oh & a dog!) crowded in my dining room. If I liked the phrase "my cup runneth over" I would totally use it here!  I felt so alive having them right in front of my face.

It wasn't a text.
It wasn't skype.

It was real life.

every one talking, catching up, laughing, taking videos, eating cake, drinking tea...even..haircuts happening in the kitchen & eye brow plucking on the love seat.

All of this got me thinking...we really need each other.
We need to be listeners & question askers.
We need to clear Saturdays to sit around together and let the day unfold.
We need the spurring on that only true friendship can bring.
We need the people that know us through and through & stay.
We need the person who asks--"Tell me more about the hardest weirdest season of your life."
And let's you cry.
And then makes you laugh cry.

I don't know who comes to mind when you think about your friends//your people//your "home team".  But whoever it is-treasure it and pursue it. Go deeper and extend grace. Listen. Hope with them. Friendship makes the world go round.  It's so worth it.

As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.  Proverbs 27:17

When we do the hard, intimate work of friendship, we bring a little more of the divine into daily life.
