This cold weather and the snow has had me thinking this week
{prompted by wise thoughts from my husband} that it’s a beautiful thing that life slows down when it snows.Yes.And this morning even, as I snuggle up on my couch, covered by my navy
blue down blanket and soaking in as much warmth I can get from my radiator, I
want to pause, and take life slowly.
I long to be a woman changed by God’s immeasurable love.
So this morning, here’s 5 Things. 5 Things to meditate on
regarding God’s love. Let this verse be true: "Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love" (Psalm 143:8)…
Cozy up somewhere warm, pull out
your Bible & journal, play some soft hymns, in the background, and soak in
God’s love today. Enjoy.
1. Psalm 63:3
What does it mean that God’s love is better than life? How does God’s love
motivate you to praise Him? Take a moment. Praise Him for who He is and how His love motivates you.
What does it
mean that God would fight for you? How do you reject the notion of stillness
before God? Confess to Him the way you lack stillness - or try to
fight for yourself - before Him.
3. 1 John 4:9-10
What is the
greatest sign of love? In what ways has this message grown stale to you? In what ways can God’s love displayed in this
way shake you today? Draw near to God,
tell yourself the Gospel, and thank Him for how He has showered His love on
you.
What does this
verse mean? In what ways are you experiencing trials right now?How is it possible, ultimately, to persevere
through them {notice it doesn’t say escape them}?Surrender those trials to God, and seek Him. Be
willing to be honest before God about your trials.Invite Him to work, to show you His great
love for you in/through them, and ask Him the big things.
5. 1 John 4:19
In what ways
can you put His love into action in your life right now? Who do you want to love? Where might God be leading you to love even
where it isn’t easy because He first loved you? Ask the Holy Spirit to empower and equip you
to live that out today. And praise Him! For He first loved us, “even while we were
yet sinners”… Amen.
