I was talking to a friend the other day about how it’s hard
to believe we’re forgiven and made “as white as snow.” It seems too good to be
true but it’s important to understand God’s grace if we’re going to enjoy a
closer relationship with Him. I’m hoping these truths from Scripture encourage
you today and remind you that as a child of God you are completely forgiven.
"Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall
be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be
like wool.” Isaiah 1:18
"My
dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody
does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the
Righteous One." 1 John 2:1
How encouraging to know Jesus, the Son of God, speaks in our
defense! When Satan accuses you with your past remember who goes to the Father
on your behalf. Because of Jesus we can draw near to God with confidence.
"Let
us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive
mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." Hebrews 4:16
As believers we don’t continue in sin just because we can
get away with it. We know forgiveness is not cheap. It cost God His only Son to
pay the price for our sin. When we encounter the love of God we want to obey Him because He knows what
is best for us. He makes us new creations!
"Therefore,
if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has
come!" 2 Cor. 5:17
God’s word is full of hope for us because of His grace. It’s
important to know where we stand with Him if we want to be the women God has
called us to be. Because we have been forgiven so much we can extend that
forgiveness to others. Don’t let your past condemn you.Christ came to set you
free. I’m including these verses because they are just too good not to share:
"Therefore,
there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" Romans
8:1
"Then
he adds: "Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more." Hebrews
10:17
"The
Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against
him" Daniel 9:9
"For
he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom
of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."
Colossians 1:13-14
"As
far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions
from us." Psalm 103:12
