How are you feeling going into this Monday? excited? weary? hopeful? hopeless? anxious? [I'm raising my hand over here!] numb? do you have a presentation you are dreading? a test? a conversation you need to have? a call you need to make? every morning we get to make the choice: am I going to live by faith today? or live by sight? Sight is so easy and natural. Faith is so, well, not easy. And we know that faith pleases God. And, oh man, I want to please God. But I forget. For those of us that have placed our faith in Christ there is SO MUCH that is true--even when we forget--even on hard Mondays or on happy Mondays... "Before I formed you in the womb[he formed YOU...He fashioned you ON purpose for this day and this time] I knew you[we've been known since before our first breath]..." Jeremiah 1:5 "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit..." John 15:16 [He has things for us to do. today.] "Do you not know that you are God's temple & that God's spirit dwells in you?" 2 Corinthians 3:16 [can you even believe this is true? tell fear to go somewhere else--God Almighty has moved in] "for GOD gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self control" 2 Timothy 1:7 [amen, let it be!] "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you[God is with you today-no matter your circumstance, no matter how you feel]; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through the fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you." Isaiah 43:2 "But to ALL who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God." John 1:12 [We have been brought in, adopted, given the very best inheritance. this is grace, only grace.] Today with Him---because of Him---all things are possible. Stay awake.
