Last week I had the opportunity to go to Cru's spring break conference, Big Break, in FL. It was so refreshing to have the sun shining on my face and my feet in the sand and even though the water was cold, I could have spent hours swimming in the waves. I loved it. However, being on the beach with a bunch of christians can be a really intimidating place. Right? It can be an environment that feels like you have to either cover everything up and wear a body suit or fear judgement for running around confidently in a swimsuit. Or at least...this is how I often felt, especially when I first became a believer and started considering what it meant to honor the Lord with my body, particularly in a swimsuit. There are so many different things to talk about related to this topic...modesty....body image... freedom from judgement and judging others...just to name a few. But as spring arrives and swimsuits start to be at the front of every store, I wanted to share this video. It was all over the internet about two years ago. I'm not saying she has all the answers, but I think she makes good points. And I think it's a good conversation to have among Christian women, one I hope to write more about soon.
