Happy first day of spring! I don't know what your view is this morning out your window, but mine is a rainy day. And I love it. I love spring and I love rainy days in the spring, especially rainy mornings, and this season is certainly starting off well.
For many of us we're returning from spring break - or maybe we're on spring break or already got back - but either way, we're all getting back into the groove after some crazy snow day action + a week off. And with spring starting today and only a few more weeks left 'til summer {craaazy}, I thought I'd get your weekend kickstarted with five things to be intentional with your weekend.
In no particular order, here they are:
1. Take a Sabbath rest. Start a prayer journal. Take a walk. Listen to music. Still your heart. Read God's word. And pray. Spend time set aside with Jesus.
3. Half of the semester is left. What will you do with it? Create goals, a plan, and follow through with it. Maybe that means taking a Friday afternoon or a Saturday morning to yourself with a journal, calendar, Bible, and music and having some much-needed {introvert} time in your life to reflect, think, and look ahead. What do you want the rest of your school year to look like? Don't waste it.
4. Do something you've been putting off. Is it connecting with your sibling? Or cooking that one new recipe? Or finally going for a run in seriously who knows how long? My family makes fun of me for this phrase/mentality that I often remind them of, but here it is anyway: Seize the day. Seriously, do it.
5. Love people well. Who is in your life that you want to step towards to care for? Is it your neighbors who you see on and off but who you don't really know too well? Is it your roommate who thinks you're kind of weird because you don't go out on the weekends and you love Jesus? Is it a friend from home who's really struggling, or a classmate who seems lonely, or the random person in the check out line at the grocery store who seems anything but happy to be there? How will you love them well, motivated by the love of God, this weekend? Consider it. And then do it.
