Five Things Fridays {Spring Crafts} // Meg

34
I told you, sometimes Fridays won’t be deep at all. Sometimes they’ll be fun and light and happy.  And for me, that happy means crafting. I realize that isn’t true for all of you {but maybe The Masters is the solution to that?} but for those who are self-proclaimed crafters, and for those who are self-proclaimed wannabes, and all others, here’s a light, fun post for you today.

{By the way, I know, I know, this post might make some of you roll your eyes. But resting well involves figuring out how you best unwind and de-stress. God saw it fit the first week of Creation to rest... It's a good thing to rest.  Maybe you can rest this weekend by creating one of these things, if these are the kinds of things that rest you - or maybe you will just take time to do something else to rest well.  Creating is a legitimate way that we reflect God's character and can cause intimate time with Him if it helps you clear your mind and process, pray, and hear from His Spirit.  So if this isn't for you, take this as a challenge to do something that rests YOU well, even in the midst of the chaos of the end of the semester & exams coming up. I don't think you'll regret that.}

Five Things to Craft this Spring:

1.  We’ll start easy. Washi Tape. I hope you’ve heard of it. If you haven’t… well, here it is.  Think about how pretty all your chip bags will be now that they’ll be clipped with these beauties – and talk about inexpensive! Who likes cheap crafts? {Every hand is raised…}

 2.  A little harder, but this is something I legitimately want to learn how to make.  It looks like you just need a mason jar, some random materials and old wood. Done and done.  This would be a wonderful addition to my bedroom wall.  Am I right?

3.  I love a good yarn wreath. I mean, who doesn’t? It’s one of those things that can be done well while having your favorite chick flick on in the background.  Lots of tedious wrapping, and lots of time and space for your mind to c l e a r…

4.  This awesome jewelry holder. I only wish I was trendy enough to do this well and pull it off.  Yes, please.  {Someone want to make one for me…?}

5. Okay, this has been on my wish list for YEARS ever since I saw it that blessed first time it appeared on Pinterest.  But seriously, how awesome is this!? I think about it often, and as we head to warmer days, it makes me want to do it more… Isn’t it awesome? If you make this, please ‘gram it and share it with me. Please.

I hope that’s enough spring DIY cheer to tide you over and get you in the mood to go out and create something beautiful this weekend on your days of rest. After all, we are made in the image of the Creator God… so I know you have it in you somewhere J Enjoy!
